Chuah Thean Teng: Father of Malaysian Batik Painting
Although an immigrant from China, Chuah Thean Teng's explorative work in the batik medium has earned him the distinguished title as the "father of Malaysian batik painting." I was lucky enough to attend Teng's solo exhibition in the National Art Gallery of Malaysia to commemorate the life's work of this batik artist.
